I'm still puzzling out the best way to approach the Titty Chest build, so while I'm thinking about it, I'm experimenting with some plexiglass to make rupees to go into the Zelda Chest.

(With the exception of the Titty Chest, I've got all six chests and their contents fairly figured out)
I started by epoxying two quarter-inch pieces together
Then cut the shape out on the table saw
-and did some pretty sloppy polishing on the first one

Looking at ways to color the things.
I heard you can boil plastic in a pan of water with a pack of Rit dye. They said it takes an hour or so (checking every twenty minutes)
I wonder if the epoxy might not give way under the heat.
Also gonna try Super Glue to bind the halves.

Chloroform or Acetone (nail polish remover) are the adhesives they use in school shop classes here, and are probably easy to colour (food colouring might even work). Otherwise, get your acrylic in transparent colours of your choice (green, red, blue, etc.).

Thanks for the infos, DS.
Perfect Neighbor Brian told me about a plastics company nearby that has colored acrylic. I'm gonna go Monday and see if I cant just get a few 1/2" thick pieces to make the things out of.
(I'm on vacation for a week)

You could try casting the pieces (then you can put spiders in the middle of them and stuff). Check out tapplastics.com for casting materials and sheets of colored acrylic. I thought they had dyes at one point for the resins. I don't see it now, but don't really have time to look that closely. They do have glow in the dark powder for their resins...
You can make silicone molds for the resins too - check out smooth-on.com

Boneless pork meep.
This'll be the first time I've done it.
I heard from the butcher that it's probably better to cook it with the bone IN.
You get a better idea of the amount of shrinkage, you don't have to tie the damned things up so they cook evenly and by twisting and pulling the bone, you can gauge how tender the meat is.
Regardless, into the fridge with your coats of tasty dry rub my little darlings.
