That's how I made the silver hammer of Thor for David 30 or so years back. A good centrifugal forge is invaluable, as it will push the metal into all the detail spots. Also, a temp controlled oven, so you can heat the mold to just above the metal's melting point so it doesn't solidify before it hits all of the tiny bits, but sets right away. Bluestone clay (dental plaster) works really well because of how fine of a texture it has, and you can buy wax for carving in various sizes of sticks.

There is a certain peace that comes with sitting with an alcohol lamp and a pile of wax sticks, heating and fusing and carving whatever is in your head, then knowing it will be in silver.

I have some 1/2" plate that I'm piecing together to make a "fishing weight" type mold like this:

I was working on the front end of a car at work and started to get up from under the front end.
I just got my feet under me and clipped the tongue if the company barbecue(that was parked right next to it.)
I hit the damned thing hard enough to both turn it halfway around and knock myself flat on my back.
A helpful inmate walked over, looked straight down at me and said: "I bet that f#ckin' hurt." and smiled and went on his merry way.

The Doctors were concerned that I had fractured my liver.

Every once in a while you get a scene that perfectly captures the entire mentality of a person/business/contractor.

What really makes it special for me is that somebody was aware enough to take the time to carefully wrap the rope up so that no one would trip.

We're having new boilers installed.
The boiler water inlet pipe is held up by Victolic couplings, but the contractors are additionally supporting the pipe with rope(they think) to be extra safe.
I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume they're stabilizing the bottom of the pipe to keep from torquing it off, but why would you tie to the top of the pipe then?

Oh, speaking of diseases;
I got meself to a medic and had a handsome vaguely middle-eastern woman feel me up and borrow some bodily fluids.
(I told her I'll be needing it all back so I can put it in the jars with the rest)
Weigh-in was fun.
Initially it read 235lbs.
I've weighed @200lbs even for a decade.
My first thought was:
"HOLY meep I HAVE 35 POUNDS OF BLOOD IN MY ABDOMEN!"
Then the doctor gave the nurse a look and she re-weighed me.
...203lbs.
Oh. Okay then.

I can't help but get a chuckle out of these little f#cking clamps from the Secret Satan two years ago.
I keep finding spots where they fit PERFECTLY.
