Good riddance to this meep. I can't believe how meep the site has managed to come since the redesign and weight transfer. Its akin to 'Major League' with second stringers like Bobacus stepping up to have become the new swarm elite.

More to the point though, I'd say this is about 4 years too late for anyone who was cool to give a meep. So long meep clowns. Here's to ruining meep more that sucked already.

And not that it matters, but LK is OK -- pun intended, hes just an easy target. The point of this for me is that the culture of this site is meep and always was. Whatever promise this had on a fundamental level for engaging people and sharing cool info was squandered by the assholes who use it. To that extent, this site has always been somewhat fascinating to me. Not that Im unhappy to see it go, but it could have been cool if it was inclusive and it never was. And now thats why this site dies.

For all your hate, you you must realize that even wotak had more juice than you around here. Much of what you dug about this place, I had a big hand in building, but keep up the fat jokes, they rock.

Well, I guess it is back to the sanitized, corporatized, mass media, safe for your eyes, safe for your government approved thoughts, blah. I've been around since this was a page off the megarad site. These last few months all the edge was gone, all the fun was gone, it was just "fark lite", at best. Sigh. End of an era.

Funny you mention fark, I found this place on fark. At one point linkswarm was on a friends of fark list on their site.

Once upon a time ragoo (I think) started a thread about whether or not you'd want your estate to inform the swarm of your passing. I recall that there was a fair amount of commenting one way or another. Interesting how a number of us thought this place would out last us.

Well meep. All good things, as they say. I've been coming out to LS for god knows how many years, I couldn't even guess. Also have no idea how I found it in the first place, but it ended up as the second link in my favorites, and has been there ever since, and in the 8 or 10 or however many years I've had in in my favorites, I've come out here almost every day without fail. I never was one of "the crowd" out here, I was more like the guy sitting at the next table, listening in on the "cool kids" conversation, and shouting my opinion in every once in a while. Which was fine, I'm not necessarily the social type, but I did envy the seeming camaraderie of the main group here. It's rare to find a group of people who can be so intelligent and so irreverent at the same time, who can laugh at the grotesqueness of life that others shy away from. It's going to be hard to find a replacement site, I doubt there is anything out there that can match LS as it was a couple of years ago. Things were noticeably going downhill for a while, but I always hoped that some new blood might come in to give the site a push back toward the subtle craziness that hooked me in the first place all those years ago. If I had the talent to run this ship they way it used to be run, I'd volunteer, but it's about a decade too late for me to have that kind of enthusiasm, and I know that no matter how hard I worked at it, it wouldn't be the same. So, good luck, and meep off, to everybody I've had the pleasure of spouting off at or having a little conversation with over the years, live long and prosper.
