Linkswarm's West Coast Drunken Meandering, (Mild)Debauchery & Family Barbecue Aug 12, 13 & 14th

Time to pull our collective meep out of our Wal-Mart desk chairs and get a little meepin' SUNLIGHT.

I've got the food and campsite covered at the beautiful Montana De Oro in San Luis Obispo.

Tents and campers are welcome. There are restrooms, but no showers.
Hotels are available nearby for those delicate souls who wanna be meep about it.

Let's do this.

Detroit to Fresno via Denver is $460. Detroit to L.A. via Vegas is $322, so I definitely want to fly into Fresno. It might cost a bit more but it's worth it to save the drive time.

I'll have to rent a car and I can pick up any meepling that might be between Fresno and Big Sure.

I'm gonna need a solid date soon, though. Last minute tickets are not an option.

I was looking at Pfeiffer Big Sur Park and found the menu for Big Sur lodge:$10 Pancakes?!

Krusteaz, black skillet, wood fire..better than any restaurant. Those places are for Yuppies, and you can't put whiskey in your coffee.

Who here's got a tent or trailer?

It was 52*f out there at 8am this morning. (a little nippy for being out in a tent unless you've got a mummy bag.)

The rates at the inn are $200 TO $300

Methinks Goat's place is sounding better and better...

Pfeiffer Big Sur looks good for camping and lodging. http://www.parks.ca.gov/iconFeatures/

I am draging a camper with me.

"dragging"

Reservations will be needed.
Throwing out a date..sayyy...:throws dart:
August 12th, 13th and 14th? (Friday, Sat and Sun)
If needed I can buy a few small two-man tents and inflatable mattresses and hit the army surplus up for mummy-bags. (You guys can keep-'em when we're done)

I just need a roll call, what you can bring as far as food and supplies and a shout-out if the date's not good for you.

It does get "nippy" at night, kind of damp cold, but not really bad. The worst of it is the fog until about 10am, then the sun comes out and it runs in the mid 60s to low 70s. Wind can be a factor in the afternoon, but usually drops off around sunset. Makes for good beach fires.

Good times in Paradise.

Count me on the roll call, Spanky.

The weekend of the 19th actually works better for me, 'cause it's after pay day.

Anyone else?

Any Bay Area swarmers wanna carpool?

Also, being local and all, may I suggest Montana De Oro, a beautiful spot that is (still open for reservations) within a few minutes of liquor, and ten miles of surfing, kayaking, and the infamous "Pismo Beach". (and my house)

Also, the drive up is worth the ticket, I hate to say. This video is South Bound, from Monterey, but at about 1:30, at the "Jade Fest" you can see shirt that my buddy Brian made. I was thinking that we might commemorate this event.

Thoughts?

Pass on the t-shirt idea, but I'm all for taking the side routes and seeing all the touristy-type sh#t.
(Nice vid, BTW)

Wait, I have an idea...

...
...
Yeah, this is gonna be f#cking FUN!

Count yerselves you meeps.
There's gonna be suprises and I need a number.

No peeking or I'll gut ya. ;)
