@anothermonkeyenslaved Figured it out -- you were trying to use a .pjpeg file, which isn't a very common extension. Can you upload the file you were trying to use so I can see it? You'll have to use imageshack or similar, since you haven't yet generated enough swarm creds to use our uploader.

No, I'm saying, let me have the original image so I can see why the system is choking on it. I see you just tried to use the imageshack URL as your avatar, but the imageshack URL you used wasn't the right one... you want this one...

You sir, are a genious, my inferior mind bows down to you. i'm completely technologically challenged. Funny my generation is supposed to be the most capable with this meep, i find i enjoy pen and paper far more. alas that form of community has been all but lost.

Thanks -- I'll add Progressive JPEG to the list of acceptable filetypes -- guessing the issue was the unexpected filetype combined with Internet Explorer's penchant for treating it as a different mimetype.

Wait, does the uploader deduct swarm creds when you use it? How does this work?

@meeproach To discourage spammers and meepos, the uploader requires a user have a certain number of submission successes (and a couple other secret bits) before allowing access.
