Inception

Well, the day has finally arrived. Ever since I heard Christopher Nolan was doing this movie last year I've been pretty stoked to see it.

I have a feeling this film will be epic but movies always run the risk of sucking-meep so who knows.
With his last film being such a huge success (The Dark Knight), the pressure is really on but I'm guessing with the 2 1/2 hour runtime and proven track record of writing and then directing good stuff that this film will live up to the hype (in my head).

God knows my wife will be glad when I stop talking about it.

I'll post a review tomorrow.

I hadn't seen the trailer until tonight - it really is meeping creepy and weird like everyone said. Retardo concept for a film.

As for Inception - well. meeping amazing piece of work. It's rare now that FX are used to actually enhance and help tell a story instead of leaned on for the entire thing. Inception is definitely a must see.

Inception was pretty meep good. I give it an 8/10

Nolan has a knack for presenting compelling stories and this flick is no exception. The 2 1/2hr runtime moved along at a brisk pace.

One thing for certain is that the movie is exhausting to watch.

One of the best films I have seen in a long time. I actually left the theater needing sleep from all the thinking.

Just curious meepbox, what do you consider 10/10 on your film scale?

Just saw it. Two thumbs up.

Steel: Just curious meepbox, what do you consider 10/10 on your film scale?

That is a good question. After some thought and pondering this "Inception" probably is more of a 9/10 and I'll probably go see it again too (as will my wife excitedly).

10/10 movies for me would be... Robocop Pee Wee's Big Adventure The Godfather Heat The Big Labowski The Matrix Dr. Zhivago

Runners up... Carlito's Way...(k, 9/10) The Dark Knight (9/10) Memento (9/10) Alien Blade Runner Gladiator The Proposition

Of course I'm not a professional movie critic, meep those guys, I'm just a guy who likes movies.

As far as Hollywood is concerned, its Christopher Nolans world and we're just living in it. Inception continues Nolans unbroken streak of badass movies with probably his finest offering yet. Even though it borrows heavily from some not-so-obscure sources (more on this below), this is IMO the most creative movie to hit the screens since the Matrix (or ever). Though there seems to be diagrams floating around the idiot webs explaining the story, the dialogue is relatively exposition heavy so critical junctions will likely only be missed if you have a tweenis and have to use the restroom. This is also by far the loudest movie I have ever seen, mainly due to the dramatic violins and ship horn that seem to play non stop for the last hour. This is by no means a bad thing as the score juxtaposes well with the ubersick gunfights, carchases, and otherwise general madness. For the movie / fiction nerds out there, I saw some glaring plot device theft from at least three different films of semi-recent note: Extenz, Shutter Island, and the Prestige (all outstanding films in their own right). Nolan I suppose is allowed to use techniques from the Prestige and I really wonder if DiCaprio had anything to do with the thematic borrowing from Shutter Island.

That's probably because it wasn't a gangster movie, it was a love story. :) Anyway, I can agree to disagree as long as you acknowledge that it was better than De Palma's other, more famous film also starring Pacino.
