2012

So I was wondering, how in spite of all the evidence against anything out of the ordinary happening at the end of 2012, anyone would still be a believer?

Decider: Admin

I am surprised that you are surprised by this.

I expect an incredibly enormous amount of nothing much.

People will be wandering the streets with a vague notion that they should probably be panicking. Then they'll go home and feel horribly embarrassed about it.

I'm thinking it's basically gonna be like Y2K again.

We're all gonna die.

Go find something old and write some obscure theories about what it means.....Convince enough stupid people that your theory is plausible (this is the easiest part) put the writings in a book and retire. <---this is why these stupid theories continue.

Make sure fear is also part of the above equation

I'm curious as to what anyone thinks is actually going to happen in 2012, and why they'd think it. Having said that, you should definitely start panicking now.

I think there are plenty of reasons outside of superstition to think major conflict is going to be happening. A lot of ecological-related disasters are on the brink right now-Haiti is case in point, a disaster waiting to happen-and one earthquake did the job. Knowing a fair amount of 2012 believers, I would say that not one of them is interested in offing themselves, unfortunately.

Well, I can tell you this much. The movie sucked meep double time. I just hope that if it really does happen that John Cusack is not one of the survivors...

I have spoken to a few people who believe something will happen simply because so many people think something will happen. This kind of logic is uncanny.

"uncanny"

I mean, its not logic, but that doesn't mean it won't work. Lots of wars, for instance, start because of perceived expectation. 1967 is case in point.

I don't think anything is going to happen.. but as for evidence.. here is something interesting about 2012..

Procession of the equinox, AKA: Axial precession. Basically the sun's position in the zodiac (12 extremeties of our galaxie). This changes every ~2100 years... We are currently in the age of pisces, before that, age of the ram and before that age of taurus. If we look at biblical events such as the story of mose when he was on the mountain.. his people made golden calf's, they were in the age of taurus. Moses was always represented by the ram on his staff or the rams head then came jesus ironically identified by the fish. (the jesus fish) There are two references where jesus deals with fish in the bible. If anything, he should be represented by a hammer for being a carpenter. Kinda strange if you ask me..
