Any stats on who is getting these designations? The nerd in me is very interested.

No stats yet. Once we're on the new engine, we can start tracking the stats and letting peeps know when they get achievements. Some of these I may be able to start tracking now-ish (or backfill via query), though the actual Achievement wouldn't kick in until 2.0, but at least we'd have a historical mountain of data to start with.

I think encouraging "first posts" is stupid, besides, we all know Ghostie or Wotak will be the only ones ever to achieve the "Quick Draw." Now if it had more of a negative connotation to it like "Premature Ejaculator" or something I'd be all for it.

It's a good question. There are already a couple Achievements in the works that are, in highschool-yearbook parlance, 'superlatives': Best _, Most , Least___, and a couple that are milestone: You submitted 100 links, You got textwarred 50 times.

Obviously the milestone ones (which need a better name than 'milestone ones') would stay yours forever. The superlative ones (also which need a better name) would go to whoever currently held the title for that record. ("Recordbreaker"?)

Huh. Your yearly idea is good -- we could do a NYE year-in-review version of the recordbreaker achievements... "Most comments for 2010", "Most rejected links for 2010"...
