Yellowstone National Park - Day 2

we left early and stopped off at terrace springs:









then caught gibbon falls:





and passed beryl springs:

then we continued north passing rustic falls:

we stopped at the park headquarters area, browsed knicknacks, and grabbed a bite to eat. on our way out we hit an elkjam:



in the valley we saw a mama grizzly with cub:





protip: when in yellowstone, clumps of people/cars mean there are animals to be seen.

we came upon a few people pulled off and asked what was up. i jogged out the trail a bit and took the first shot. i continued after they had proceeded into the dip, which a stream ran through. there were two fly fisherman and i noticed the bears had just loped by them. we went further up the road because it seemed like they'd just follow the ridgeline, but they ended up appearing basically right where we originally were. but, you know, i'm kinda ok with not being too close to them.

on the way down we saw a brown bear loping up the hill across from us. i couldn't get a shot off in time.

this is down as far as we could go on the tower falls trail. we couldn't get closer to the falls because of trail collapse.
