Whatcha Lookin'@?
All right, at the risk of being abused by vandals, ragamuffinsand scalawags, or worse ignored I'm gonna break tradition and introduce a topic for discussion. What do y'all watch on TV, or what TV shows do you check out on the box you're glued to?
I got out of this meeping chair for a few hours last week and enjoyed, in succession: A new episode of House, The Closer, a new show called Trust Me, and the pilot for Saving Grace.
I really love the last one and miss Mad Men dearly, Trust Me is pretty good, about admen, but Mad Men it will never be.
Other faves, actually the only things I watch atall mostly.
Damages- Glenn Close and Rose Bryrne are terrific, keeps you guessing, everybody's got secrets.
Lost-Caught up with the first 3(4?) seasons on DVD last year, been watching the new stuff religiously.
Heroes- Bout jumped the shark, but lotsa characters to follow
Burn Notice- Slick, well made, tongue-in-cheek spy meep.
What's yours?

Daily Show. One of the few in here I have any real strong feelings about.
Dexter. Basically flawless.
House. Consistently awesome despite the blatant formula.
Heroes. It got pretty dicy there for a bit.
Colbert Report happens occasionally. I'd do it again in a pinch.
Lost. Intermittently. Past seasons were too cliff-hangery and unsatisfying to watch as aired. Let that meep sit.
True Blood, at the insistence of the LBP, turned out to be rather better than the first three episodes give you any right to expect.
That looks like a meepload of TV, but somehow we only spend about 5 hours a week in front of it.
Oh, and we don't see any commercials at all, and I kind of wish the peeps who lovingly prepare my downloads for me wouldn't snip them out. I suspect TV commercials are a huge part of instantaneous cultural feedback and I like to know what popular mistakes are available to me as a consumer/personality.

I miss that awesome show, I'm back in a house with no Showtime or HBO. Have to catch up with that and Weeds again some day.
Is 24 really that good? I usually jump off such a bandwagon before it really starts and then get back in on my own terms, contrary like that.

Current shows: Dexter - I watched all three seasons of Dexter in about 2 weeks. This show is so f'ing great.
The Shield - this could be the greatest tv drama ever on the toob. Vic Mackey would totally kill Jack Bauer.
Ghost Hunters/G.H.I - I watch both of these religiously, every week and always have.
24 - this is such a great show.
Weeds - This show gets better each season.
Californication - This is a pretty slick show.
I may or may not catch a weekly show about irritating emo meepgots singing.

LOST - I'm glad it's finally making some sense and wrapping up some loose ends.
Dirty Jobs - I love Mike Rowe's sense of humor and the show is always interesting.
Man Vs Food - lol
No Reservations - Anthony B would be a hoot to hang with.
Man Vs Wild - Bear has my dream job.
Sponge Bob Square Pants - I have a 3 year old, so I have an excuse to enjoy this awesome cartoon.
I don't really watch a lot of shows. The tube is usually on in the background with Discovery or NatGeo running. I tune in when something grabs my attention and tune out when when my ADD demands I do so.

Fringe, my son turned me on to this bit of weekly weird.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Testees are both pants pissing funny.
South Park never gets old.
CSI Laurence Fishbourne is okay so far.
Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU and reruns of Order: CI are staples of my TV diet.
Manswers asks all of the questions men over the ages have pondered upon, such as "Are natural boobs getting bigger?" and "Does spanking lead to horniness?"
The Daily Show.

I got into this intensely for the 1st 3 seasons. Is it still good? What's the chances of catching up with not knowing what happened with the Armenian money train, and on?
Outstanding productions, guess I'm always surprised when I see they've made new ones. Some of the footage on The Universe is unbelievably good, especially the underwater ones.
No meep lol, You're kidding , right?, that bug eater is crazy.
RU serious? You must be stoned woman. ;) Interesting about Fishburn and CSI. I've bout given up on it's far-flung, nigh on ridiculous solutions, might give it a go in reruns again.
You are indeed a rare woman if you are even vaguely familiar with or forgiving of Manswers, lol.
I forgot Tuesdays-Leverage with Timothy Hutton is kinda clever and catchy.

But aside from that my very favorite show:
-Good Eats, with Alton Brown
Imagine Bill Nye the Science Guy teaching you how to cook. With puns galore. Bliss.

we really don't watch all that much tv. 15 hours a week would proabably be pushing it (not counting movies).
regularly/semi-regularly: 24 grey's anatomy private practice no reservations
occasionally/sporadically: it's always sunny in philadelphia top chef rock of love incarnations daily show colbert report mythbusters survivorman man vs wild reno 911
by some punishment visited on me by an angry god: anything on hgtv (over and over and over again)
rip: pushing daisies
hopefully will get to someday: the wire tombstone battlestar galactica heroes lost

I'm down to maybe 30 minutes a week of actual TV watching.
I might catch 2 or 3 more hours at night while falling asleep on my laptop. These are split between Simpsons, Lucky Louie, South Park, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and mostly movies.
It's surprising how easy it's been to cut TV out completely. I just don't have the time for it.

LOST- Ben Linus is choochooing the train to awesometown this year. BTLSTAR- I invested a lot of viewing hrs into this and it has kinda let me down last season, they took the series too dark and gloomy. Last episode redeemed a lot of that however. Dexter- Goddam perfect show. True Blood- This fills my mindless T&A needs. Fringe- I am really digging this, the supporting cast is awesome but the lead needs to be axed. Kitchen Nightmares- Gordon Ramsay swearing at people is goddam awesome. How its Made- As a process engineer this gives me a raging hardon. Heroes- The Hayden boneuer show, YES MORE OF THIS PLZ! House- Pretty solid. Burn Notice- Just starting season one, pretty good so far. Sons of Anarchy- This show is awesome, imagine Hellboy as Al Swearengin who happens to be a Hells Angel.

I had forgotten about that show. It really is pretty meeping awesome. My sister-in-law dated an ex-marine biker who was in a gang affiliated with the Bandidos and the wife and I went to a couple of the parties/rallies. I can say that the show is a pretty fair representation of the culture: Subversive, extremely loyal to their own and, ultimately, volatile and dangerous.
I like:
Battlestar: It's the best sci-fi going right now. Nip/Tuck: This show has jumped enough sharks to make the Fonz tired.
And since we got HD, I have rediscovered my love for the Science Channel. It's one of those things I can turn on and just stare at for an hour or so.
I can honestly say that I don't actively watch that much TV. I'm usually playing with the baby, working around the house, playing guitar or screwing around on the computer.

Watching TV for me is not really what the sit-com 70's picture I imagine you're asking for. "Oh No It's Thursday and almost 9pm, I gotta get HOME because XXX is coming on." I record everything so I can skip all previews/commercials and do massive intakes at once. (frak you, toaster)

New episodes of these shows are set to record on my DVR every week. I like 'em (and I like ff commercials.)
The Shield (protip: Final season is over, the show is done.) This last season was great. The First 48 (highly recommended) Paranormal State Intervention Cops (Amazing to watch old episodes and compare them to modern ones, weve become a bit more militarized it would seem.) Damages It's Always Sunny in Philly Sons Of Anarchy (this was pretty good and I think it got picked up for a second season.) The Beast (Swazye is decent, his partner is not.)

Good Eats, with Alton Brown: Never get's old. Even the reruns are educational.
Chopped: I love the concept of this show. A basket full of mystery ingredients that usually shouldn't be together; make a meal of it or get eliminated. Winner get's 10K.
Conspiracy Theory w/ Jesse Ventura: meepan lol! I've been recording these episodes and every one I watch makes me think a little less highly of Jesse Ventura (not that I was ever really impressed with him to begin with). He's guaranteed to leap a shark in every episode.
...and that's it until LOST returns for the final season.
I hardly watch the tube at all anymore. When I want to see a movie, I steal it. I'm a couple days away from building a new HTPC which will make stealing and watching a bit more streamlined - but other than learning new kitchen tricks, I don't really have much use for television broadcasts. The commercials drive me meeping insane, especially on the channels that have commercials 58% louder than the meeping programming. I've basically been driven almost completely away from broadcast TV because of the hyper-annoying advertising.

Sadly, my job revolves around watching TV.
House CSI (vegas and NY) NCIS Law and Order (all of them- CI bothers me because the lead guy was in something and I keep imagining him covered in blood with broken teeth.) Criminal Minds
I watch Leverage with my mom. I watch Dexter when I can get it (no Showtime- I catch it on Netflix)
And I usually leave it on The Weather Channel so I can ignore it completely.

Over the past 6 months, cut the cable back to basic and got a Roku box to connect my Netflix account to my TV. Between the instant streaming and DVD queues I have been watching:
The Wire (Just finished season 2) Doctor Who (up through season 4 so far) Torchwood (on season 2 now) The Tudors (season 2 as well) Dexter (re-watching season two in prep for s3) Californication (haven't watched yet, but queued up) Weeds (on season 3 right now)
On regular TV I am trying to stay engaged on 24, but it feels like work now. I really wanted to like Fringe, but I have pretty much given up on it. New season of Life After People is starting up, so I want to catch up on that. Waiting for the next season of Whale Wars so I can see that Bat Boat thing get run over.
