Linkswarm on Twitter
So I've been thinking about twitter and how much I like and hate it as a social mechanism. I don't like status messages, but for some reason the concept of basically instant messaging the ether for others to subscribe to is definitely compelling.
I was thinking about this concept while staring at the shoutbox and figured that they would make a happy couple. I set up a twitter feed for linkswarm in a shoutbox type style. The idea is that many people have access to the account and can post whatever they like. It is located here if you want to follow.
If you would like to participate, PM me for the password. Understand that since this password controls the account, that I will probably only give it up to alphas and others that can be trusted.

You could also set up a Linkswarm account that just puts the links up as the come in by plugging the Linkswarm RSS into Twitterfeed.
I see Linkswarm is taken as a Twitter account...

I've been using Twitter for my biz, and haven't really quite figured out what to do with it. But I do get to spend a portion of my day circle-jerking with the likes of Scoble, Winer, Arrington, and Hsieh.
Mostly it's been a good way to get my people jazzed up about customer service again.

Tweetdeck is cool but I find myself not using it as much as I'd like. I use digsby to manage all my social/IM traffic as it has support for facebook, myspace, and twitter.
For actual twittering, I use ping.fm to basically replicate my tweets as status messages in myspace and facebook. It can do a bunch of other social sites as well. I use the IM interface, so I just send an IM to 'pingfm' and it sends it out to my configured accounts. I can do that IM from my desk or from my BB using jivetalk/beejive.
Simple, and effective without needing a billion apps.

Coolness. I like this idea. I went and registered LINKSWARMcom for fun too. Maybe Vas can dream up something to do with it in the future(RSS feeds?)
