azron

I received notice early this morning of azron's death. I know he had been away for some time due to poor connection issues.

He was diagnosed with lung cancer a few weeks ago and had a whole lung removed about a week ago. His prognosis was good. He died in his fiance's arms, Joan. He recently became a grandfather in May, but had not yet met his grandson, Ronald.

I know he considered y'all here his friends

So raise your drink, joint or coffee to azron and post your favorite story or memory about him here.

Decider: Admin

You want a song?

meeper loved him some Viking meep.

P.S. Ron, I hope you're happy. I just spent 2 hors on the phone, drunk, with Pam, in your honor. I think I can hear you laughing @ me :)

Clavis and I chewed over what Azron's the Memorial service song should be on the phone and come to the conclusion Led Zeppelin III, Immigrant Song would be fitting for a man for a man who loved Viking Warriors and in many ways was one himself!

His son would have to agee!

OH meep YES

Well, can we obtain those manuscripts, transcribe them and push for publication?

HellKat, is this do-able? I know it's too soon, but can we come back to the topic when it's more appropriate?

I mean, it would be a worthwhile investment: preserve and spread Ron's memories, enrich the English literature with some great Americana stories, and maybe do something tangible and cool in memory of a LinkSwarm member?

What do you nignogs think?

The Skinranch was awesome.

I would love to someday see this tome on our shelf because I'm sure there are many more stories of this caliber and greater in Azron's collected writings.

If there is anything I can do to move this forward, I'll do it. The wife and I were English majors and read for life. Between us, we should be able to provide something toward the effort.

In request: Vas, is there any way that you could take Azron out of the misspelling filter? Seeing his name underlined by little red dots is kinda weird.

I have been informed that azron's charity of choice for gifts in his memory would be Heifer International. www.heifer.org. He reportedly said that "everyone should be able to eat meat"

I like the idea of putting together a book of Wisdom and stories of Azron.

Did we have a volunteer to gather his posts from here? Clavis, you offered to edit it?

I can look for a publisher and get a price, but I need a quantity. Would the proceeds (if any) of this book go for Heifer International?

I would like to see it on the shelf at my local bookstore, but would certainly purchase a limited edition copy.

Proceeds to his charity-of-choice would work for me, but should probably be left up to his heirs.

This is crazy. Heifer is based here in Little Rock and one of my friends is a project manager for them living in Bolivia. I will contact him tonight about effective donations.

One thing though: Heifer isn't just about eating meat, it's about building sustainable systems. They don't just provide livestock to the impoverished. Perry and his associates give information and training that make provided and existing resources viable through synergy.

It's more about strength than charity.

I think Ron knew that. His fiancee described a charity that she had forgotten the name of that in addition to purchasing livestock, trained impoverished people to sustain themselves with such livestock, etc.

If this program is inappropriate, I am open to other suggestions to the family, but mostly I am reporting as told.

From: L. Hulse Date: June 30 2008 4:37pm (one day ago) Subject: RE: MY BROTHER RON HULSE Anyone wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers may send a donation to Ron's son. Ron's grandson was born with a heart defect which has required several surgeries, and any help with medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone want in on this? I'll make a separate thread.

I stand corrected.

Vas is correct about charity funds in lieu of flowers being send to his c/o of his son Roland Hulse to benefit Ronald Hulse, Ron never go t to see the little meep. This request was made through his sister, where Heifer International was the suggestion of his fiance/widow.

My so played for misc hyms and appropriate music for 1 1/2 hours on keyboard prior to Ron's actual memorial service. The songs chosen for the service were "Vincent" by Don McLaine (sp?) and "My eyes adore you" chosen by his fiance Joan. It was (as you can imagine) well attended and highly emotional.

RIP, I hope you and your son are having a blast right now.

oh my god :(

RIP Azron...
