Coolest Assasin in the movies?

Okay, who would you say was the coolest assasin in any of the movies you have seen.

I'd like to say one of the girls in Kill Bill, but to be honests I couldn't say any of them were COOL. So as a cool hitman - I figure it has to be Bruce Willis in The Jackal

  1. Christopher Walken in True Romance.
  2. Christopher Walken in anything.
  3. Sammy L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction. He spewed COOL all over that meep.
  4. Bill from Kill Bill. So far these are all Tarantino material so I guess I enjoy his character structuring.
  5. Aeon Flux if it's anything like the cartoon. We shall see.

Robert Shaw as Grant in "From Russia with Love." I think the scene in the train stateroom was the closest that Bond ever came to actually getting killed. It was certainly the most tension filled near-death scene of any Bond flck.

EDIT: To revise my original submission, which was both incorrect and meep. I've gotta grow the meep up.

Steel: Leon - The Proffessional

I agree, but with the caveat that he is also the dumbest for letting that dude "hold his money."

Guess Who?

Clerik Preston, Equilibrium

Keyser Soze (the scene where he goes into the room, sees the hungarian who raped his wife, killed his child, looking around and kills his son and wife)

of course....

evildigitz: So as a cool hitman - I figure it has to be Bruce Willis in The Jackal

Do you know the original? It has one of the most fantastic endings i know. The Jackal executes everything like a real pro, he is unconscionable (you have to, as an REAL assasin) and in the end he makes ONE failure, he misses the police man who where following him, they shoot him down. The whole scene took 5 seconds, and was much more impressive then the one in the remake

Harrison Ford as Deckard in Blade Runner. I think this was one of his best roles.

You guys have hit most of my choices already.

Willis in Jackal and again in The Whole Nine Yards.

Cusack in Grosse Pointe Blank

Banderas in Desperado

Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. Even in the Crappier movies Bond has style.

Peter Falk in The In-Laws (original with Alan Arkin)

I think it was Terry Gillam who played the bumbling, stuttering hit man in A Fish called Wanda also Kevin Kline as Otto, same movie

The more I think about it the longer my list gets and it gets harder to pick just one as coolest.

The Operative from Serenity, which I just saw in a press screening in Boston Common Loews yesterday. I can scan and post a copy of my admissions ticket in case there are non-believers...

Really, many of the folks above can't hold a candle to that guy. Calm, collected, calculating, and a BIG fan of impalement.

Does he count as an assassian? With the specs and the fanciful weapons and swords, and exploding vamps, it made for a good time.

Avatar the Wizard from the movie "Wizards".

"Here's a trick Mom showed me when you weren't around!"

Guys these are all cool killers, going back to Kill Bill - Yeah Bill did have style but he was hardly successful as an assasin - The Terminator - meep YEAH! The first movie Arnie was FANTASTIC, then he got famous and whent all ghey (< does that spelling count as one of the top 5 most annoying), Bond - nah, no fan. Buscemi - yeah, he was cold in Denver, literaly poppin' a cap in the meep. But real assasins dont pick fancifull ways to kill people (I guess), so for realism - body count and coldness cool factor, I dunno - I still need to find that movie.

Jean Reno in Leon was a favorite of mine for a long time, he's cool in a lot a meep tho' like Walken (Walken has the cool detached way of talking too)

How about that creepy meep spy/assassin couple in one of the early Bond films that hold hands with bad haircuts and moustaches? That just didn't fuking fit at all. Every time I see it my brain automatically starts working to crack the mystery.

Apart from that, and all the good ones that have been taken (Deckard/Kroenen/Leon/et al) I remember liking the meep out of Wesley Snipes' character in Demolition Man.

Some of you are just naming bad guys or villians. An assassin means it is their sole occupation to kill people. That is their purpose and function in life. Doin' the murders. Feelin' the flow. Workin' it. Workin' it.
Not that villian aren't cool of course. It's still fun when they just kick a lot of meep. Owning n00bs and such.

Just saw Serenity last night. The main chick, she's not an assasin, but each time she gets going, a lot of people get their meep whupped. She's kinda cool in a freaky, angry-teenager sort of way.
