Debate reactions

mostly agree. Bush skrewed up the word 'ferocious'(sp?) on the first question. His long pauses to think were painful. and he almost said 'the only thing I've been consistant on', but he caught it and changed it to ' the only thing my opponant has been consistant on...'

i thought kerry did better overall from a "just answer the question" point of view. Bush overdid it with his mantra and it was obvious he kept using that to resort to when he couldn't come up with a good answer. I think, however, bush did better than i expected. That being said, anyone who thinks hank hill ought to be president should vote for this guy. i also believe if you are going to vote for bush, your meep belongs in iraq and you are a hypocrite if you don't sign up for active duty the day after elections.

I agree with Acheron. There was no knock-out punch, but it was a war of attrition as Kerry kicked Bush's meep slowly up and down the stage like a stupid ragdoll. He was prepared, informed, incisive, forceful, and composed.

Bush was glum, uncomfortable, defensive, faux-incredulous, and clumsy, like a preppy kid explaining himself in the principal's office -- and doing a meep-poor job.

The fact that any Bush supporter can walk away from this without feeling embarassment for their cause still bewilders me. For people to say afterward that "Bush came out better on believability, likeability and toughness" flat-out boggles my fuking mind.

Giuliani, that silly dog, called Bush "articulate." What fuking broadcast was he watching?

Bush was definetly defensive. I like how, when asked how the world works, he responds "I just know." I would say Kerry came out on top, though it wasn't a one-sided win. I still cant believe he said that he made a mistake about voting for that bill. That seemed kinda odd from a politician.

Well the worst part for bush in this is that this was supposed to be his powerful platform. This is what was supposed to win him the election. He failed miserably and will be taken apart at the next debates that deal with domestic and foreign policy. He won't be able to rattle on about these terrible people that want to kill us, although im sure he will anyway he doesnt have anything else.

Guiliani and Tommy franks were the nights conservative shock troops. They are meep meeps.
